What is Carmen® Worker?

Carmen® Worker is a containerized, self-hosted version of Carmen® Cloud Vehicle and Transportation & Cargo APIs.

Who should use Carmen Worker?

For most use cases, the most convenient way to use our recognition technology is to subscribe to the Carmen® Recognition Service, but in certain cases a company might need to host a vehicle recognition engine in their own data center:

• High Data Security Requirements: sometimes a customer demands that sensitive data must never leave the data center, and sometimes this requirement is even mandated by law. In our Carmen® Worker container image, recognition happens locally; input images and recognition results never leave the server and are immediately discarded after processing. The only requests made to our cloud servers will only contain data strictly necessary for license verification. Neither input images nor recognition results will ever leave the server.

• More Cost-Effective Licensing: if you need to process an exceptionally high volume of data, it can be more cost-effective to self-host and request the appropriate offline licenses instead of subscribing to a cloud package. For further details please contact our team.

How much does it cost?

Although the container image is free to download and use, it requires you to utilize Carmen® Cloud's public license service, which is available to all registered Carmen® Cloud users who have a valid Carmen® Recognition Service subscription.
